Johnny and I met with Baby Hutson's pediatrician yesterday. She's did a great job of answering all of our questions. One question I asked was whether expensive baby laundry detergent was necessary. She said, "Absolutely not." Apparently there's nothing super different about baby detergent. So as long as you already use detergent without scents or dyes, you're good to keep using it. A penny saved!
So true! It's actually worse in a lot of ways (has a lot of icky chemicals). We have started to make our own detergent.

ReplyDeleteIf you don't already look at labels, now is the time to start reading all the dyes and perfumes in everything. Why do we need perfume in our laundry detergent? Isn't the detergent supposed to get out the stink? Mine does!
Only thing to consider is cloth diapers do need special detergent. Don't use All Free & Clear on bum genius or most other cloth diapers or you will void the warrantee. :( This is a list of tested detergents.
